NHW School Counselor
Mrs. Maddie Dunlap is the Elementary School Counselor at North Hopewell Winterstown. Mrs. Dunlap has spent the past decade working with agencies to provide behavioral and mental health services to students. Most recently, she served the Maize Gable population as the school based therapist, providing mental health therapy and support to over 50 families. She attended Elizabethtown College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Human Services minor. She received her Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lock Haven University. Mrs. Dunlap is in the process of obtaining licensure to be a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as completing courses to obtain a school counselor certificate. As the school counselor, Mrs. Dunlap will work with students individually, within small groups, and during whole classroom lessons. Topics discussed in lessons throughout the year include conflict resolution, coping skills, friendship skills, self-esteem, and career. Small group topics may include social skills, grief and loss, stress and anxiety, and anger management. Parents, students, and teachers may refer concerns to Mrs. Dunlap as needed.
Mrs. Dunlap is married and has a "Dorkie," a dachshund and yorkshire mix, named Maisie She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and friends, and loves the beach. Mrs. Dunlap is looking forward to a wonderful 24-25 school year at NHW!
