Parent-Teacher Conferences are being held Nov 17, 21, and 22. If you have not already scheduled a conference, please make sure to do so. You only need to sign up under Mrs. Irving (both Mrs. Miller and I will meet with you together.)
If the dates and times available do not suit your schedule, please contact Mrs. Irving or Mrs. Miller so that we can set something else up with you.

Extra Credit Assignments

The end of the first marking period is October 26th. Grades to this point are posted on EdLine. If your child would like to improve his or her grade, there are optional extra credit assignments available in reading and social studies. These assignments can be found on your child's Google Classroom account, and must be completed at home. They are due on October 25th in order to count towards a report card grade.

Fire Safety Program

Our class will participate in a Fire Safety Program on Friday, October 21.

Cross-Country Meet 10/19

All students in grades 4-6 will participate in the Cross-Country Meet on Wednesday. Please make sure your child is dressed in appropriate athletic-wear and sneakers.

Book Fair - 10/5

Fourth grade will visit the book fair on Wednesday afternoon. If you wish for your child to shop, please send money with them on this day.

Google Classroom

Our fourth graders have really enjoyed the opportunity to show their learning in Social Studies by using Google Classroom. This online classroom gives students the opportunity to submit and save work online with immediate feedback from me and their peers.

Ask your child to log in to Google Classroom and show you how it works!

Grades for the areas of writing and social studies have been uploaded to EdLine. If you need help accessing your child's grades, please contact me! :)

Instrumental (Band) Lessons

If your child has signed up to play a band instrument this year, lessons with Mr. Kriebel will begin on Tuesday, September 27. Please make sure your child brings their instrument.
What an exciting day! :)

Reading and Writing Pre-Assessments

This week and next, fourth graders will be taking several pre-assessments in reading and writing. The purpose of these assessments is to help me get to know each student's strengths and needs, and also to have a starting point from which to measure growth.
Though these assessments can be overwhelming for some students so early in the school year, I simply want all students to do their best work and am not expecting perfection! They will not count towards report card grades.
