All About Mrs. Schaefer

Mrs. Schaefer will be your child’s math and science teacher this year.  

Here is a little bit about her educational background and teaching experiences. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics. Mrs. Schaefer earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Theory from Penn State – York. She taught sixth grade for a year in South Carolina and was a language arts assistant in eastern Pennsylvania before joining the Red Lion Area School District.  Mrs. Schaefer taught fifth grade for one year at Locust Grove. Then she came to NHW and taught fourth grade for two years. Now she is starting her 22nd year teaching fifth grade at NHW and loves it! She participates in professional development opportunities to continue her learning and growth as an educator.

Mrs. Schaefer has been married for 21 years. In her spare time, she likes to go mountain biking, kayaking, for walks, to the gym, and camping with her husband and friends. She loves being an aunt to three nieces and one nephew.

Mrs. Schaefer enjoys working as a team to help students succeed. She loves getting to know her students, their interests, talents, learning styles, and gets excited learning from her students as much as she enjoys teaching them.
